Hi everyone,

I need your help! I've recently volunteered to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise funds. It works like this: I'm doing a marathon! Okay, so I'm walking instead of running, but hey, 26.2 miles is still a long way! Anyhow, your donations (which are tax deductible, by the way) will go toward the 3300 dollars I must raise to participate in the Disney Marathon in Florida next January.

A college friend, Stacy, passed away from complications of this horrible disease, and my Grandfather as well as a dear friend, Sylvia, have died from cancer. Leukemia research has taken on a greater importance in my life as I have learned that the cure for leukemia is the first step towards curing all types of cancer. So, by raising money for this cause, maybe someday we can cure or even prevent leukemia and cancer. I've also recently learned that Leukemia is the number one cause of death of children between the ages of 1-14 and as a new mother, you can imagine that suddenly this is very real to me.

If you think you may be interested in contributing, please contact me! I can mail you additional information as well as a pledge card. Or if you prefer, you can mail a check directly to me (made out to the Leukemia Society of America). Either way, your money will be going to a great cause, and something near and dear to my heart, that can someday benefit a whole lot of people. One last bit of information: we are able to walk in memory of or in honor of anyone we would like, so I've chosen to walk in memory of Stacy.
